The Jan Nowak-Jeziorański College of Eastern Europe and German Culture Forum for Eastern Europe in Potsdam are pleased to announce the call for applications for the third edition of The Bohdan Osadchuk Polish-German-Ukrainian School.

The School is designed for participants from Poland, Germany and Ukraine. It is open to students and PhD candidates, young graduates and leaders between 18 and 28 years of age and interested in Central and Eastern Europe (social sciences, literature, history, geography etc.).

English is the language of instruction. The participants are required to have a fairly fluent command of English, which is sufficient to communication effectively with others and understand lectures with ease.

The School offers a 7-day series of lectures, seminars, tutorials and workshops (starts on 27th of November and ends on 4th of December.) The participants will focus on the broad topic of the future of Europe that will be approached from an interdisciplinary perspective. Also part of the programme are discussions on the historical contexts within the 3 countries as well as seminars conducted by participants themselves. All activities will be led by an international group of experts.

The School will take place in Wrocław and Wojnowice, Poland. The Schools Organiser provides the participants with accommodation, food, teaching materials, entry tickets and local travel. The Organiser does not reimburse any travel costs to Wrocław borne by the participants. The Organiser might take into consideration the reimbursement of travel costs to and from Wroclaw in full or in part when deemed necessary. The participants are required to take part in all the activities offered by the Organiser.

The application deadline is October 23th. The Admission Committee will select successful candidates by October 24th. The candidates will be notified of admission decisions via e-mail. A formal invitation will be sent to successful Ukrainian candidates via e-mail ( a formal visa requirement).
